Friends Taekwondo Anniversary Inaugurated by Minister P. Prasad & Coach Ameer Vayalar
Cherthala, Kerala – A remarkable fusion of tradition, discipline, and community spirit
unfolded in Cherthala as Friends Taekwondo Academy celebrated the grand inauguration of
its Anniversary and Vacation Classes. The event, which drew an overwhelming response
from the public, was not just a ceremonial affair—it was a vibrant expression of the
academy’s mission to empower the next generation through martial arts.
The highlight of the day was the formal inauguration by Sri. P. Prasad, Hon’ble Minister for
Agriculture, Government of Kerala. The Minister, known for his grassroots connect and
commitment to social development, praised the academy’s consistent efforts to build
confident, resilient individuals. “Martial arts is not merely about physical strength; it teaches
discipline, respect, and courage—qualities we need in our youth today,” he said during his
keynote address.
The event opened with a visually stunning Self-Defense Demonstration by the Shaurya
Team – Star Command, functioning under the District Administration of Alappuzha. Their
expertly choreographed routines, precise movements, and real-time defense scenarios
captured the audience’s full attention. Through this demonstration, the importance of selfprotection—especially for women and students—was brought into sharp focus. The team’s
performance served as a powerful reminder of how martial arts can be a tool for
empowerment and safety in an increasingly unpredictable world.
In his welcome speech, Mr. Sudheesh Chandra Bose, the Patron of Friends Taekwondo
Academy, extended heartfelt gratitude to the dignitaries, parents, and well-wishers. He
recounted the academy’s humble beginnings and its evolution into one of the region’s leading
centers for martial arts education. “Our journey has always been about more than
Taekwondo. It’s about character-building, about giving young minds the tools to face life
with confidence,” he said.
A key moment during the event was the launch of the Academy’s Anniversary Logo and
the Stern Training Program Brochure, both unveiled by Minister Sri. P. Prasad. The logo
embodies the academy’s growth and vision, while the training brochure outlines an ambitious
curriculum designed to nurture competitive excellence, fitness, and mental resilience in
students.
The function was honored by the presence of several eminent personalities. Mr. Arun G.,
Inspector of Police, Cherthala, applauded the academy’s role in positively channeling youth
energy. Mr. Gibin Babu, CEO of Gray Aiders and Deputy Commander of the Delta Task
Force, highlighted the significance of structured training environments in cultivating
responsibility and leadership among young people.
Beyond the speeches and performances, the academy took time to recognize the hard work
and dedication of its students. A special award ceremony was held to distribute certificates,
mementos, and scholarships to those who had shown excellence in training and community
contribution. The scholarships, in particular, are a reflection of the academy’s inclusive
approach—ensuring that talent is nurtured regardless of financial background.
Closing the ceremony with sincerity and inspiration, Mr. Ameer Vayalar, International
Taekwondo Coach and a guiding force behind the academy, delivered the vote of thanks. He
acknowledged the collaborative efforts of trainers, students, parents, and supporters, and
emphasized the academy’s unwavering commitment to its mission. “Taekwondo is not just a
sport—it’s a lifestyle. Through discipline, respect, and hard work, we are preparing our
students not only for competitions, but for life itself,” he stated.
The event was not only a celebration of milestones but also a reaffirmation of values. As the
Academy steps confidently into its anniversary phase, it remains deeply rooted in its core
belief—that martial arts can shape not just stronger bodies, but stronger minds and
communities.
Friends Taekwondo Academy’s continued growth and community engagement have firmly
established it as a transformative force in the region. With its well-structured programs,
visionary leadership, and an unwavering focus on youth empowerment, the academy is
poised to leave a lasting legacy in the world of martial arts education.
